  • CD-ROM GOD
  • This is problem occurs when the setup disk for windows 95 or 98 uses a generic driver for our CD-ROM that is not quite compatible. Sometimes you can go to your Autoexec.bat or config.sys and removing the rem (remove) or uncheck statements using msconfig. This only works in some instances but in any case you will have to get the proper driver for you CD-ROM so it will work properly.

    Msconfig
To get into Msconfig you will have to do the following:
    Click the start menu
    Select Run
    Type msconfig
There you will see the following screen to edit different settings in your computer

If the above fails to produce any results you will want to go to the following link and download a program called CD-ROM GOD. This software will find the dos drivers for the CD-ROM which allows Microsoft Windows to see the drive and install the proper drivers. http://www.gankish.net/rumblesoft/downloads.htm
