If every time you log into windows and your A: drive is searched, causes your computer to slow down or freeze the do the following:
[1] Right click on your task bar and Select properties
[2] Select Start Menu Programs in the center top. [3] In the Document Menu, click the clear button.
Possible Cause
This is caused when a program like Office97 uses a temporary file to prevent total data loss when power is lost. Chances are that you have or will edit a file on of your Floppy Disk and maybe your computer will get shut off before you can save your file. When your computer restarts Windows will automatically try to pick up where you left off but the temporary file it is trying to open is on the floppy disk.
What you are doing when you clear the Documents Menu is making the computer forget that you were ever working on the document off the floppy disk.
